Bexar County Rx Card is easy to use and provides a list of features that can help most of the 58% of Bexar County residents that have a monthly prescription drug cost.
We wanted to make it easy to use, provide access to the most local pharmacies in Bexar County, and provide a card that doesn't require any membership requirements, including fees. But we also wanted to help insured residents by providing a way for them to find savings. These major features are all described here.
When it comes right down to it, the discounts are the reason you’re here in the first place. Right now you may be between jobs and are uninsured. Maybe you have insurance but it doesn’t cover some of your drugs (AKA being “underinsured”). Either way, you are stuck paying the full (pharmacy industry lingo time!) “cash price” for your prescription medication.
We have built BetterRxCard from the ground up to be lean and mean savings machine. That means up to 70% off generics and 15-20% off brand name prescription drugs. If that is not enough we even provide you with a way to save up to 90% on some brand name drugs by finding lower cost options that work just as well (and that your doctor will approve!)
Lower your copay
If you’re uninsured, or underinsured, discount card programs are a great way to save a lot of money.
But what if you have extremely high copayments (AKA “co-pays”) even with the insurance provided by your employer? What if you’re among that unfortunate group of people who finds themselves paying more than $70 a pop for preferred brand drugs, because your employer opts to subtly shift the cost of prescription drugs over to you? Discount drug cards can’t help. We can.
The BetterRxCard helps reduce the cost of medications by up to 90% through a patent-pending process that no other prescription program offers called EquivaMeds. EquivaMeds helps you find lower cost prescription options to your expensive brand name medications.
Using a patent-pending database to find FDA-approved drugs, EquivaMeds can help locate drugs designed to treat the same condition as your current medication, even if that medication has no generic option on the market. Because these medications are not heavily marketed by the drug companies, they are typically 33-90% less expensive. Plus, many have years (decades, even) of proven efficacy and safety, and tend to be covered by most insurance policies or Medicare.
